Ventricular threshold testing tips

Ventricular threshold capture is usually easily seen on an EGM.

Programming

•DDD vs VVI: DDD prevents potential dysnchronous symptoms & competitive sinus beats when VA diss

•Short AV delays are useful when patient has slick intrinsic AV conduction, to avoid fusion confusion

EGM appearance

•Can add a 2nd “far field EGM” to help see LOC

•If BiV device, activation to opposite V lead can help determine LOC

•Long pulse widths can obscure EGM evoked response – ECG recommended
